Influenster VoxBox – Clairol Colour Crave

Influenster was nice enough once again to send me some exciting new products from Clairol and their Color Crave line. They sent over a semi-permanent hair dye in orchid and hair make up in shimmering silver.

I was really excited about the dye, I love the colour and I used it later that night. The colour came out really nicely, very bright and colorful. 4 1/2 weeks later, there is still some colour left. It’s faded really nicely and I am really happy with this product. I would definitely use it again in the future, and would consider purchasing it in another colour.

The hair make up I was much less impressed with. I found that the colour didn’t even show up at all, and my hair is pretty light colored

Influenster Kat Von D VoxBox – Saint and Sinner Perfumes

I’ve never been much of a perfume gal. I always forget about it, and a lot of the times it gives me a headache. BUT when I heard about the Kat Von D Saint and Sinner perfumes, I was dying to try them. I’m a sucker for great packaging.

Imagine my surprise when I come home to the Saint and Sinner VoxBox that Influenster sent me complimentary for review. Booooooy was I excited for these. I opened the box immediately.

Saint is described as “soft, alluring, and dreamy, this gourmand fragrance sweetens a bouquet of jasmine and tiaré flower with notes of mandarin, caramel, and sparkling Mirabelle plum. Vanilla, sandalwood, and creamy musk build to the romance of the perfume”

Sinner is described as “dark, sultry, and empowering, this enticing fragrance sweetens a bouquet of jasmine and orange blossom with notes of vanilla, mandarin, and Mirabelle plum. Spicy cinnamon envelops white florals at the heart of the fragrance, while base notes of vetiver, patchouli, and wood form the deeper, darker nuances.”

I definitely gravitate more towards Saint. I find it lighter and less overwhelming, but don’t get me wrong, I really like Sinner too.

I think I found my signature scent in Saint!

Influenster BITE Beauty VoxBox – The Liquified Lip

Influenster and BITE Beauty were once again, kind enough to send me the latest BITE VoxBox complimentary for review. This time it was for their new Liquified Lipsticks.

They sent Flambe, a gorgeous orange red, Demi-Glace, a purpleish-beigey-kind of thing, and Eclair, a classic pink.

These lipsticks are completely different than anything BITE has launched before. They also aren’t like your typical liquid lipstick. They don’t dry down completely matte, they have more of a demi-glaze finish. They look more like a suuuper pigmented lipgloss, and they definitely aren’t transfer proof.

I think these lipsticks are what super-drying-hater-lipstick-lovers are looking for. They are comfortable AF to wear, but you don’t lose the colour impact. Here’s my thing – it’s just not my jam. Don’t get me wrong, I like these, I will continue to wear these, I will recommend these if this is what someone is looking for, I just probably wouldn’t actively seek these out myself.

Flambe is my favourite colour out of the three, and will definitely wear it again and again. I was disappointed by Eclair, it’s just kind of boring.

Influenster Revlon Voxbox – Mega Multiplier Mascara

Whenever I have to buy a new mascara, I drag my feet. It’s just not FUN to buy mascara, you know? I’d rather buy a 30th purple lipstick that I will use 3 times in a year instead of invest in a nice mascara that I will use literally every single day.

I also have a very hard time spending more than 10$ on a mascara. Any high-end ones I’ve tried have been samples or have come in gift sets. I have yet to find a high-end mascara that is so life-changing that it has been worth the price tag.

Luckily, just as one of my favourite mascaras (CoverGirl LashBlast Fushion) ran out, Influenster and Revlon were kind enough to include me in their latest voxbox and sent me the new Mega Multiplier Mascara complimentary for review.

The Mega Multiplier claims to be flake and smudge free, water resistant, but easily removable, and gives an oversized ‘mega multiplied lash look’.

I find that what you want from a mascara really varies from person to person. I like a mascara that is very black, has a plastic applicator rather than a natural bristle one, and lengthens and separates. I don’t like when my lashes get clumpy or heavy, and I don’t enjoy when a mascara is too hard to get off. I have been using the Benefit Roller Lash for the last few months since I got it in a holiday set, and I find it’s a little too clumpy and it stays on for a week. The latter part might be my fault because I am v lazy.

The mascara that was sent to me was ‘blackened brown’ which I was slightly disappointed (but not that disappointed because I got it for free, you know) that it didn’t come in black or blackest black, because I find that gives a more dramatic appearance.

I wore this mascara for about two weeks straight, and I really like it. It maybe doesn’t lengthen and volumize as much as I might want, but it makes for the perfect every day mascara for me personally. I don’t wear mascara on my lower lashes, but I think it would work very well for that. I do find it easy to remove – just dampen with warm water and you can more or less kind of pull the mascara off your lashes because it’s one of those tubular ones (don’t worry, you won’t pull off your lashes in the process.)

Overall I liked it, and I would probably rebuy this, but probably in a darker colour.

Thanks to Influenster and Revlon for sending this to me. If you want to see my reviews on the other voxboxes I got, click here, and if you want to join Influenster and get some awesome free stuff to, click here.

Influenster BITE Box – The Lip Pencil

Once again, Influenster was kind enough to include me in their latest campaign with BITE Beauty, introducing their new lip liner pencils.

I was super excited to be sent one of these voxboxes complimentary for review, I love BITE, lip colours, and being included in things.

I wouldn’t call myself a lip liner aficionado, I very rarely use it. If I’m worried about my lipstick moving or whatever you use lip liner for, I use NYX’s wonder pencil – I find it more versatile than your typical lip liner because you can use it with any colour, not just one that matches.

The idea behind the lip pencil is that they are inspired by natural lip colours, and will pair with many of the amuse bouche lipsticks. They’re meant to be creamy, thanks to being infused with shea butter, for a smooth, easy glide on the lips with no tugging.

Influenster sent 2 lip liners, in 020 and 044, 2 amuse bouche lipsticks, in Honeycomb and Whiskey, and a Sephora Eco Sharpener (it’s almost as if they knew the only sharpener I own I bought at the dollar store in grade 9).

The colours sent were perfect, I love being able to try out a really light nude and a bold, dark colour because some companies are able to nail one and not the other. I think BITE has proved time and time again with all of their products that they can nail pretty much any colour they set their mind to.

The lip liners are fine, I don’t think I’m the best judge of these because I don’t really reach for lip liners, but they are nice and smooth and can be used as a base for the lipsticks or as just a liner. I think these colours will also work well with some of the other lipsticks I have in my collection.

Unsurprisingly, the amuse bouche lipsticks are wonderful and flawless and smooth and creamy and pigmented and perfect. You should own at least one of these lipsticks.

If you’d like to see my post on the last BITE box, you can find it here. If you’d like to join Influenster for yourself, maybe use my link? Thanks love you.

Influenster BITE Box – Matte Lip Crayon

Hi guys! It’s been a while, hasn’t it?  Sorry, things have gotten in the way the last few months but I’m going to try to do a better job at posting in the new year (is what I tell myself.)

Anyway, Influenster was kind enough to include me in their BITE Beauty Matte Lip Crayon campaign. If there are 3 things you should know about me – I love makeup, I love mail, and I love getting stuff for free. This was the perfect compilation of all of the above.

BITE is a Canadian company that focuses on lip products. You can find their stuff at your local Sephora, and like, other places I’m sure. I had never tried any of their stuff except for a swipe of a friend’s lipstick a couple of months ago.

They sent three of their Matte Lip Crayons in the colours Glacé, Red Velvet and Cava. Glacé is the perfect ‘your lips but better’ dusty rose nude colour. Red Velvet is a classic flattering red. Cava is an icy pink, but not the kind you and your friends wore at dances in middle school, like a COOL icy pink, you know?

These glide on like Nutella on a crumpet – smooth as hell. It doesn’t take much to build up the colour to the perfect opacity. I tend to use a lot of liquid lipsticks because I am lazy and don’t have to reapply them, and these don’t last as long as those, but they still have a pretty great wear time. My personal fav is Red Velvet.

I would definitely recommend these, I LOVE them. They are so wonderful. Try them, and then tell me how much you love them.

Biore Baking Soda Voxbox

image1 (5) I love face washes. I literally have 7 different ones right now in my shower. Like, not an exaggeration. I counted beforehand for accuracy’s sake. So when Influenster asked me if I wanted to take part in the Biore Baking Soda Voxbox, I was all in.

One of the face washes I currently use is Biore’s Deep Pore Charcol Cleanser, which is great for my oily skin, so I was excited to try some of their new products, the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser and the Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub. I tried both products pretty well immediately.

The cleanser is meant to be an everyday face wash, whereas the cleansing scrub is a couple times a week kind of thing. The scrub smells very much of baking soda. Which really isn’t a surprise, but it threw me off a little. You dump a little bit of the powder in your hand and swoosh it with some water and then put that on your face. The smell threw me off a little bit, but it was a fine product.

The cleanser smelled less of baking soda, and actually felt more exfoliating than the scrub, but either way, maybe don’t use these products back to back if you have sensitive skin. I liked this better than the scrub, but not as much as the charcoal one I currently use. Also, since the scrub is a power, I recommend not keeping this in the shower, even though it has a pretty tight close on the lid. Any bit of moisture kind of ruins the product.

Overall, I liked these products, but I don’t think they would replace what I am currently using. If you’re interested in signing up for influenster, visit their website. You too could get sent free stuff, and we all love that.
