Cruisin’

Canal Days is an annual festival that takes place in the nearby town of Port Colborne. I’ve gone pretty well every year as long as I can remember. Due to my work schedule, I didn’t get to attend very much of the festival. To make up for this, my friend Jessica and I got tickets to go on a cruise on the tall ship the Empire Sandy.

We embarked on our 2-hour cruise into Lake Erie. It was a hot day, so the middle-of-the-lake breeze was seriously fantastic.

Jessica and I explored the ship a little bit and sat down for a mid-cruise snack, AKA a $5 hot dog and flat pop. I mean, we were on a boat so I couldn’t expect TOO much from a culinary angle.

We spent the rest of the time on deck enjoying the sights and sounds of the music, lake, crew, and the interesting people we were sharing the boat with.

It was a really fun experience, and we definitely lucked out with it being a beautiful day.
