June in southern Ontario is probably like, the best thing ever. I may be a little biased, but this is my blog, and I get to make all the outlandish claims I desire. I digress.
I have a friend in town this week who had never been to Niagara-on-the-Lake, and I thought it was the perfect excuse to go. It can be a little too overrun by tourists in the summer, so a Monday this early in June seemed like the perfect day to visit. We walked up and down the main drag entering whatever shop called to us. There were a ton of knick-knacks I was dying to pick up, but I held myself to a few postcards and some Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce. I just couldn’t resist that.
We then met up with a few friends for dinner at Cork’s, where we talked about out mutual love of Survivor as well as the new school program I am starting in the fall. The restaurant was a little pricey and didn’t have a super diverse menu, but that’s what is expected of a tourist town, and the fish & chips I ordered was pretty good.
We then headed out of town to Avondale Dairy Bar, where I might have overindulged in a peanut butter sundae. But it was sooo good you guys, how could you blame me!
I love being able to play tourist in my region, especially in a place as beautiful as Niagara-on-the-Lake.
