The day everyone had been looking forward to for almost a year had finally arrived. It was so surreal that the day was finally here, and I was so excited to see my friends get married! We started our morning early at the hair salon, many of us with coffee in hand.
After hair, we headed back to the Lord Nelson where we had set up shop for the last few days. We changed into our robes, and lined up for the make-up artist. The photographers arrived, and we started to pose for pictures. I’m really looking forward to the professional shots!
We arrived at the church right on time. The ceremony was gorgeous, and I was happy to be a part of it. After the wedding, we went on to take some more pictures. We headed to King’s College for a few photo ops. The setting was stunning, but the weather was not. Thankfully, it wasn’t raining, but it was cloudy and a little on the chilly side. After the photos, we headed back to the hotel for a few minutes to rest up before the reception.
The reception has held at the Dalhousie University Club. The room was gorgeous, and it went well with the style of the wedding. For dinner, there was a buffet of various appetizers. The food was great; my favourite option was definitely the mini pulled pork sandwiches. I can never pass up a good pulled pork sandwich.
Instead of a traditional cake, Mike and Kristin opted for a variety of cupcakes made by Mike’s cousin. There was strawberry, double chocolate, and red velvet cupcakes. I went for a red velvet cupcake, and I do not regret it at all.
The wedding also featured an adorable candy bar and photo booth. I can’t wait to see those pictures either. Basically I just want to see all the pictures.
We danced the night away, and we left the reception looking a little more haggard than we entered, but we all had a fantastic time.
Congrats to Mike and Kristin!
